REBECCA GARANG WANT PEACE IN SOUTH SUDAN

Rebbecca Garang has urged South Sudan president Salva Kiir to release the detainees in Juba so that the talks to end the war proceed.  The imprisonment of 11 high ranking politicians is a major stumbling block in talks that have been ongoing in Addis Ababa since last week. Rebels have repeatedly called for their release, while President Kiir has insisted they will not be set free without a legal process.  Rebecca Nyandeng Garang is visting Uganda and met president Yoweri Museveni  in Rwakitura yesterday. She told Museveni that the release of the detainees will speed the talks and end the war. She said former deputy President Riek Machar would have no excuse to continue fighting if Kiir released his colleagues.
