Deputy Minister of Finance, Hon Adam Malima launched the much anticipated book, Tanzania Photographic Journey - 50 years of United Republic of Tanzania (The Union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar 1964 -2014 ) at Serena Hotel this week. The book celebrates and covers the historic journey of the 50 years of the United Republic Of Tanzania. The book, which comprises of over 444 pages describing in detail the historic journey of Zanzibar and then Tanganyika (Tanzania Mainland), covering the rich historical background and the political journey prior to the Union in 1964 and also the political journey of the factual events from 1964 until 2014.
Javed Jafferji who is the publisher of the book said" It took 17 months to publish this book and it is the best book I have worked in the last 25 years out of 70 books i have published. I am proud that this book will remain a reference manual for generations of Tanzanians to come"
This book has been blessed by both the existing Presidents, Dr Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete and Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein by both having agreed to do the foreword for this book. Furthermore, it remains to be the only book that carries the foreword of both the Presidents of the United Republic of Tanzania and Zanzibar respectively and furthermore they are the current Presidents in power.
