CORD leader Raila Odinga has alleged the existence of a plan by the Government to embark on a World Bank funded mega project to construct underground Water Collector Tunnels within the Aberdares at a cost of 6.8 billion shillings. In an address to the media this afternoon, Odinga claimed that the project was not properly licensed, is a threat to the environment and should be stopped. Our reporter Francis Gachuri attended that media briefing and now joins us live from Capitol Hill.
Deputy President William Ruto says the government will not halt its development agenda and the plan to unite Kenyans. Speaking in Bomet, the DP maintained that the government's agenda will not be dragged or stopped by the people seeking political mileage at the detriment of development.
