Kenya election commission refuse to resign

I’d rather got to jail than resign IEBC chairman.

The independent electoral and boundaries commission -IEBC was on Tuesday finding itself in a catch situation with commission chairman Ahmed Isaack Hassan rejecting attempts by the justice and legal affairs committee to cajole them into resigning with a send off package and vowed not bow to pressure to quit.

Hassan who spoke during a meeting between the commission and the parliamentary committee said resigning would be a justification of the allegations levelled against commission and dismissed calls for talks with the joint legal committees of parliament saying it would provide an opportunity for politicians to vilify the polls body.
Chemutai Goin reports on the meeting which was marred by a flurry of exchanges with CORD MPs insisting that the commissioners should quit.
