New Ford-Kenya has been dissolved, becoming the first jubilee affiliate party to do so ahead of the planned merger next month.
The party’s national executive council met in Nairobi and approved its dissolution. The formation of jubilee party, which will be President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election vehicle next year, now depends on the dissolution of other affiliate parties.

ODM rebel MPs Ababu Namwamba and John Welukhe have met party delegates in Bungoma county where they launched a charm offensive to woo ODM delegates in the region.

This comes hot on the heels of a meeting between Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka of new FORD-Kenya party, ababu and Welukhe. A similar meeting has also taken place with Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.
Ababu and Welukhe speaking in Bungoma on Monday, said their objective is to unite all Luhya leaders and form a single political party to negotiate with others. A section of party members in Western Kenya piled also pressure on Ababu to quit.
