Kenyan opposition CORD calls for countrywide protests to kick out election commissioners

on other matters now the Kenyan opposition CORD has now put the Jubilee administration on notice to either engage them in negotiations on reforming the electoral commission or face the full wrath of the opposition. The CORD principals’ Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula say protestors will be occupying all IEBC officers in the 47 counties every Monday until the IEBC commissioners’ bow down to pressure and leave office or the government engages them.

On the same note Deputy President William Ruto says calls by opposition leaders for the disbandment of the independent electoral and boundaries commission, IEBC is tantamount to a coup against the constitution. He says both IEBC and the supreme court of Kenya are institutions created and anchored in the constitution which cannot easily be disbanded. Duncan Khaemba now reports on what looks like jubilee taking on the opposition head on.
